Practice, Practice, Practice!

It’s not uncommon for someone that has never sat down to sew would be able to sew perfectly on the first try. Sewing takes practice and practicing develops confidents. Pull together some scraps of fabric and make time for yourself to practice different sewing techniques on your sewing machine.
Start with the straight line stitch.
And while you are practicing, think of all the projects you can create!

Make a dot-to-dot sewing sheet (on copy paper) to practice on like the one shown above
and practice on your sewing machine.

This is a great way to get kids comfortable with sewing.
